"Bounce Bounce" by Haeun Kang
Haeun has made a game where you have to move the bar to keep the balls from reaching the lower edge of the screen. Use the arrow keys to move it left and right. Make sure you have the sound up when you are playing.

"Christmas Mayhem"
Lexie and Danielle in Pukaki 4 worked collaboratively to create this game they called "Christmas Mayhem".
You have to help the snowman shoot the pumpkins before they fall on the ground or on him - or its Game Over. Move the snowman by using the arrow keys.... Good luck!!!

Troll Attack!
Levi Sutton from Hurunga whanau created "Troll Attack!" which is a game where you have to shoot the trolls before they get to the castle wall. Each time you destroy the trolls, another wave attacks the wall! The Archer's arrow is controlled by the mouse pointer. Good Luck!!

MPs Visit Coding at RIS
Labour MPs Louisa Wall, Tamati Coffey, Nanaia Mahuta and Adrian Rurawhe visited the school this morning and did a tour through the Pathways rooms with some of the prefects.
During their visit they spent time speaking with students in the Coding room. Tyla, Shannen and Levi did a fantastic job answering their questions knowledgeably and showed them how they are learning to code and what they have been able to achieve so far. Considering this is their first day at Coding, they managed to impart a lot of knowledge.

Pathways Bands
The Pathways Team introduced the new Pathways bands yesterday in assembly.

"Cook a Pig"
Anna Waller in Pukaki 4/7 has created an original project which she has called "Cook a Pig".
She had to import an image to fit the concept and has experimented with the blocks until she got the outcome she was looking for.

Tunohopu Games
This week Tunohopu planned and started creating their first games. James Atkinson worked diligently all morning to create this game called "Hungry Shark". He drew the harpoon himself as it wasn't in the media library. You play this game by helping the dolphin eat as many fish as he can while dodging the harpoons!

Welcome to Term Two:
Five new classes started Coding this week. The students have got off to a flying start - working through a set of lessons designed to teach them some basic coding concepts.
They are using Tynker which uses code "blocks" which the students interlock to form the code they need. At the rate they are going, they will be designing their own games very soon - watch this space!

Carmen Walker-Ponman has made a game called "Run Away Mouse" - the mouse has to get to the cheese while dodging the grumpy farmer. It is quite tricky to play as she has coded the grumpy Farmer to chase the mouse!

Pukaki at Coding
The students in Pukaki are finishing off their first projects this week - there have been some exciting games being made and they have enjoyed figuring out how to use the coding blocks.
